Has it ever happened to you, that when you are about to leave a bookstore, you spot a book that makes your visit even more prolonged? That’s what happened with me and my friends, on our way back from the Bhagsu Falls.

We were so damn tired that levels of lethargy had reached to a point when we could not even open our eyes. But when they finally opened, we found ourselves outside the Gypsy King Café.

Dulcet tunes of the band ‘Nirvana’ were pouring out of its threshold, the chairs inside looked welcoming. Upon entering the café, the walls were painted a flaming red color.The lamps on the ceiling were making all sorts of reflections on it. On each of the three walls, there hung the most beautiful black and white photographs ever seen by us. We later found out that they were clicked by the owne

We sat under a huge OM which was hung on the wall and by the time our coffee came, U2 had taken over Nirvana.

The air was thick with the aroma of the THUKPA which we had ordered and believe you me, it was the best THUKPA we had during our trip to Dharamshala.

The whole time we were there, the owner played songs of our request.

And now whenever I walk into a café, I still hear the sound which my feet made when I first walked on the gravel floor of the Gypsy King Café.
