Ingredients for Instant Uttapam
- 1 cup Semolina (Sooji / सूजी)
- ½ cup Curd (Dahi / दही)
- 1 Tomato, finely chopped (टमाटर)
- ½ cup Cilantro leaves, chopped (धनिया पत्ते)
- 1 Onion, finely chopped (प्याज)
- ½ Capsicum, chopped (शिमला मिर्च)
- 2 Green chilies, chopped (हरी मिर्च)
- Salt to taste (नमक स्वादानुसार)
- Water as needed (पानी)
- Oil for cooking (तेल)
How to Make Instant Uttapam?
Step 1: Prepare the Batter
1️⃣ In a mixing bowl, add sooji (semolina), curd, salt, cilantro, and green chilies.
2️⃣ Gradually add water in small batches, mixing well until you get a thick yet pourable batter.
3️⃣ Let the batter rest for 10-15 minutes. After resting, stir again. If needed, add a little more water to maintain consistency.
Step 2: Cook the Uttapam
1️⃣ Heat a non-stick pan or tawa for about 30 seconds on medium flame.
2️⃣ Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and gently spread it to form a thick pancake.
3️⃣ Sprinkle chopped onions, tomatoes, capsicum, and cilantro on top. Press them gently into the batter.
4️⃣ Drizzle oil around the uttapam and cook for 1-2 minutes until the bottom turns golden.
5️⃣ Flip carefully, press slightly, and add a little more oil. Cook for another minute until golden brown.
6️⃣ Repeat the process for the remaining batter.
